A man saved a baby from rolling onto a busy six-lane California road after powerful winds blew the child’s stroller across a parking lot in a matter of seconds.
Security camera footage shows winds blowing a baby inside a stroller at least 20 feet across a car wash parking lot Monday, in Hesperia, California, north of San Bernardino.
A woman had been with the stroller near a car parked in the A1 Car Wash parking lot before the wind gusts began propelling the stroller away from her.
But when the woman reached out to rein the stroller back in, she fell and couldn’t get up, video shows.
In the footage, the stroller quickly rolls toward a busy road for nearly 10 seconds, as more than five cars zoom past in the three lanes nearest the parking lot. On the opposite side of the road, at least eight cars – including an eight-wheel truck drive past during the time the child is careening towards traffic.
Luckily, a man runs across the parking lot and stops the stroller’s trajectory when it’s just feet from the curb.
In the video, wind can also be seen blowing debris in the direction of the road.
