There’s a new power couple at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital 👀.

Ellen Pompeo, who plays the illustrious Meredith Grey on “Grey’s Anatomy,” gave fans of the long-running medical drama series a treat by revealing a little detail about the show’s upcoming seventeenth season.

Pompeo responded on Friday to a fan who asked on Twitter if the actress could share something about the day’s table read.

“Yes I have a new favorite couple not sure what you’ll call them,” Pompeo tweeted. “But they are adorable you guys can have fun guessing who!”

Before people could get to guessing, Giacomo Gianniotti jokingly asked Pompeo: “Wait, you mean ‘second’ favorite couple right?”

Gianniotti plays Andrew DeLuca on the series and Grey’s love interest.

A fan asked Pompeo if her new favorite couple was “Maggie & boyf,” to which the actress responded affirmatively.

“Ding ding ding ! You guys… you have no idea how adorable they are,” Pompeo wrote.

Near the end of Season 16, we saw Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) and Dr. Winston Ndugu (Winston Hill) in a romantic entanglement after meeting at a conference.

Aside from Pierce and Ndugu’s relationship status, Season 17 of “Grey’s Anatomy” will also incorporate the biggest medical crisis in decades: The COVID-19 pandemic.

During a Television Academy panel in July, executive producer Krista Vernoff said Dr. Meredith Grey (Pompeo) and her colleagues, who have treated all manner of emergencies over more than 350 episodes, will have to face the coronavirus and its medical and human consequences.

“We’re going to address this pandemic, for sure. There’s no way to be a long-running medical show and not do the medical story of our lifetimes,” she said.

Vernoff said discussions with real doctors have highlighted the emotional toll, an element likely to be reflected in the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital medical staff’s response to the pandemic. “It’s really painful to listen to these doctors. It’s really painful to realize what they’re going through on a daily basis,” Vernoff said.
