CW is expanding to a seventh night this fall, the first time the smallest broadcast network will have a full week of programming. 

In a new season filled with reboots, remakes and revivals, the network’s fall highlights include the returns of sci-fi series “The 4400,” which aired on USA Network from 2004-07, and “Legends of the Hidden Temple,” a 1993-95 Nickelodeon game show that spawned a 2016 movie. (But a live-action reboot of Cartoon Network’s “The Powerpuff Girls” is not going forward for now.) 

The full fall season is expected to kick off in early October, a few weeks after CW’s broadcast rivals unveil their lineups. Its current season, delayed by the pandemic, began in January. But CW chief Mark Pedowitz told reporters Tuesday that its effects on production will linger: “It will take until fall 2022 to get back to a fully normalized schedule.”

“The 4400,” with a new cast, is about a group of thousands of marginalized people who disappear over a century, only to return to Detroit on the same day without having aged a day. “Legends” is promised as a “supersized adult version” of the kids’ game show that had contestants maneuver through a maze and confront the almighty “Olmec” Mayan statue. “Killer Camp” is a U.S. adaptation of a British game show in which teens seek to unmask the “murderer” among them, competing for a cash prize.

For midseason, CW promises spinoff “All American: Homecoming,” set at Bringston University, a historically Black college or university, and includes Simone (Geffri Maya) from the original series as a tennis hopeful and Damon (Peyton Alex Smith, “Legacies”) as an elite baseball player. Also due: “Naomi,” starring Kaci Walfall (“Power”) as a “cool, confident, comic book-loving teenager as she pursues her hidden destiny” in a drama based on DC Comics. Ava DuVernay is among the producers.

“Charmed,” “Dynasty,” “Roswell, New Mexico,” “In the Dark,” “Stargirl,” “Kung Fu” and “Superman and Lois” will return later next season, while “Black Lightning” and “Supergirl” have been canceled. 

Also due this fall: An animated “Scooby-Doo Reunion Special;” a new movie, “The Waltons’ Homecoming,” a Christmas movie on the CBS drama’s 50th anniversary, narrated by Richard Thomas, who played John-Boy, a role now filled by Logan Shroyer (“This Is Us”); and “Beebo Saves Christmas.”
