Where can you stream ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’?

Audiences can find “Avatar: The Way Of Water” on both Max and Disney+ starting on June 7. While it’s unusual for films to stream across several major platforms upon their digital release, thanks to a temporary deal between HBO Max, Disney+ and Hulu, the platforms share streaming rights for a selection of titles from 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures, which includes “Avatar: The Way Of Water.”

The film is currently available for purchase through all other digital video retailers, including Apple TV, Prime Video, Vudu, Google Play and Movies Anywhere.

What is ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’ about?

“Avatar: The Way Of Water” is the long-awaited follow-up to James Cameron’s 2009 film “Avatar.” The sequel, which takes place 15 years after the events of “Avatar,” stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, a former human who becomes a member of the Na’vi and is raising a family with Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) in the lush landscape of the far-off moon called Pandora. When humans return to Pandora and threaten the peace, Jake, Neytiri and their family’s idyllic lives are once again threatened by the dangerous, deadly colonization of their land.

Also returning to the film from the original are Sigourney Weaver and Steven Lang, while new cast members like Kate Winslet, Edie Falco and Jemaine Clement were brought in for the sequel. In addition to being a box office blockbuster, the film was nominated for four awards—including Best Picture—at this year’s Academy Awards and took home the prize for Best Visual Effects.
