Daytime television staples, “Judge Mathis” and “The People’s Court,” will end after each has spent more than two decades on air.

“Mathis” will be ending on its 24th season while “The People’s Court” will end on its 26th season, a source familiar with the situation but not authorized to speak publicly tells USA TODAY. Both final seasons are currently airing new episodes.

The syndicated Warner Bros. TV programs feature Greg Mathis and Marilyn Milian, respectively, as they preside over disagreeing parties with situations to be settled by binding arbitration in a courtroom set.

Mathis, a former District Court judge in Michigan, first appeared on the air in 1998, according to IMDb. Ten years later in 2018, the show earned a Daytime Emmy for outstanding court program.

“The People’s Court” first aired in 1997 as a revival of the original show which ran from the 1980s to 1993. In the first season, former New York City mayor Ed Koch sat at the bench. In 1999 Judge Jerry Sheindlin, who is married to “Judge Judy” star Judy Sheindlin, took the reigns. In 2001 Milian, a former Miami Circut Court judge, wore the lead robe.
